We're excited to introduce our latest upgrade that enhances how multiple practitioners can access patient information in your clinic. This update provides more granular control over practitioner permissions while maintaining security and workflow efficiency.

Multiple Practitioner Patient Access Upgrade

What's New?

Our Multiple Practitioner Patient Access Upgrade introduces two distinct practitioner roles with different levels of patient access, giving you more flexibility in managing your clinic's staff permissions while ensuring patient privacy and data security.

  • Practitioner (Full Access): Complete access to all patient records and features
  • Practitioner (Limited): Access only to patients they are specifically linked to or have created themselves
  • Enhanced Security: Granular control over who can access which patient information
  • Flexible Management: Easy role assignment and patient linking

Plan Requirement

This feature is only available with the Growth plan.

New Practitioner Roles

Practitioner (Full Access)

This role provides complete access to all patient information and system features, similar to the previous practitioner role but with enhanced clarity about permissions.

Access Includes:

  • Create and manage appointments
  • Handle walk-ins
  • Access all patient records
  • Create and manage invoices
  • Manage patient files and documents
  • Edit patient information
  • View clinic reports

Practitioner (Limited)

This new role provides restricted access, allowing practitioners to work only with patients they are specifically assigned to or have created themselves. Perfect for clinics with multiple practitioners who need to maintain patient privacy boundaries.

Limited Patient Access:

  • No default access to patient records
  • Gains full patient access only for linked patients
  • Can access patients created by themselves
  • Can create appointments for assigned patients
  • Can handle walk-ins for assigned patients
  • Can access records, invoices, and files for assigned patients
  • Can edit information for assigned patients

How Patient Assignment Works:

Practitioners with limited access can view patients they are assigned to, which happens automatically when:

  • A practitioner creates a patient record themselves
  • A frontdesk staff creates a patient and schedules an appointment with a specific practitioner
  • A walk-in is created and assigned to a practitioner
  • An existing patient is scheduled with a practitioner they haven't been assigned to before

Once assigned, the practitioner gains full access to that patient's records, appointments, invoices, and files.

Practitioners with limited access can only view and modify patient information for patients they are specifically assigned to, ensuring better privacy protection.

Flexible Management

Clinic owners can easily assign practitioners to specific patients, allowing for better workload distribution and patient-practitioner relationships.

Compliance Support

The granular access control helps clinics maintain compliance with privacy regulations by ensuring practitioners only access patient information they need.

Clear Role Definition

Each role now has clearly defined permissions, making it easier for clinic administrators to understand and assign appropriate access levels.

How to Use the New System
